In an inspiring effort to promote hygiene, sustainability, and social responsibility, University of Delhi student activist Eyaan Siddiqui led a Cleanliness Awareness Drive on campus this week. The initiative brought together students, volunteers, and faculty members to spread awareness about the importance of maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings.
Purpose of the Drive
The goal of the drive was simple yet powerful — to encourage students to adopt sustainable habits and understand that cleanliness is not just an act but a mindset. The campaign also aligned with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a nationwide mission to create a cleaner and healthier India.

Activities Conducted
Awareness Walks: Placards and posters were displayed with slogans promoting cleanliness and environmental protection.
Interactive Sessions: Discussions on waste segregation, plastic reduction, and personal responsibility were held.
Pledge Ceremony: Participants took a collective pledge to keep their campus and community clean.
This drive not only leads towrds a better education campus but also towards to a great and Clean Nation
We have approached to many people near by our PG in Navin Shahdara. To aware them about do not create waste at the time of festival season. We told them that a small waste of plastics and crackers are so much harmful to the nature. We suggested them various ways to reduce this waste generation-
1.To promote reuseable alternatives like- using cloth and paper bags
2.Maintain waste segregation
3.Use of eco-friendly crackers
4.Use sustainable practices in their houses
5.Avoid single use plastics
6.Disposition of waste in the best ways
Student Leadership in Action
Speaking about the initiative, Eyaan Siddiqui emphasized:
“Cleanliness is not just about removing dirt—it’s about changing our attitude. As young citizens, it’s our duty to inspire others to care for our environment.”
His leadership inspired many students to join the cause and commit to making the University of Delhi a model for sustainable campus living.
